Re: Why do scammers always seem to come from poor countries?
As Bertje said, scammers come from everywhere. It's not so much that one particular country is more likely to have fraudsters in it, but more that scams, like cuisine, dress, and everything else, tend to differ from region to region. So the criminals will act differently everywhere. As an American, ...

Re: Need help !! Is this an Online Dating Scam?
It is a scam. The way it works is they will ask you for a series of fees to receive the (fake) inheritance which will never come. Please immediately stop all contact with this person and block them on any social media, whatsapp, etc. where you may have added them. As his criminal has your phone numb...

@Padme: So the "Alaye" (another example ) is a kind of secret code to other lads, so that they don't waste time on each other? Are there any other hidden code words I might stumble upon? In that same conversation in the image you posted, right after he says Alaye, he says How far. How far...

Re: Heavy Rain in Africa
They do. Especially in something like romance scams on platforms like Facebook. Also, more common than it actually happening, is the lad's fear that it is happening. If they're a scammer pretending to be someone else, maybe the person they're talking to is as well.

Re: Heavy Rain in Africa
The reason he put out those few "Alaye"s was he was trying to see if perhaps you are a scammer too. Sometimes lads come across other lads when scamming. Throwing this out is their way of finding out if they're wasting their time talking to one of their own.

Yes. It was created by a member of 419eater many years ago and continues to be an excellent way to bring lads to your inbox.DerekTrotter1981 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 10:08 pmI managed to get my own share of receiving mail from scammers by signing something called the muguguestbook (have any of you heard of it?)

scamnoms welcome. Romance scammers vary widely in terms of how they operate and many are not only romance scammers but dabble in other types of scams as well. Personally some of my longest running and entertaining (to me anyway) baits have been with romance scammers. But they can also be very tediou...

Just to get her off topic, you might also reply just asking her a bunch of questions about her religion since it seems to much to her along with some ideas you have on how to spend that fortune. Or you could give some story about your own relative who died recently. Or some story about your relative...

or you can send him nothing at all; in which case, they'll just say something like "Never you contact me again", and clear off. I have a lad I started baiting in 2015 with another baiter DSW Here's a pic of the lad: https://i.postimg.cc/wvyBLpF0/IMG-20160622-WA0004.jpg He has lots of othe...

Congrats on keeping the lad on the hook and getting his bank details! A couple of points, to help your baits, and more importantly, to help real victims: Do not give lads any fake passport. While it might be an obvious fake to you, victims are fooled by obvious fakes all the time. The reason lads as...

Love the "subject" "predicate" agreement. :D I have trouble turning the conversation away from my funds. In general, one thing I've found helpful in regard to getting lads off script/payment is letting them lead and think they're getting paid right up until the payment's meant to...

Ha! Not a lame suggestion at all. The lad seems to have forgotten his format already so it will be interesting to see where this goes. So far it's still chatter about Paul trying to get a phone. okay when you get it then let me know Yeah. I'll let you know what I think. Where are you located? Are ph...

Even if this bait is done, can we get more from the wealthy antiquities dealer please? I love the idea of this character. Seems like it has so many possibilities and story lines that could develop with lads trying to convince you of all the rare finds they could dig up.

I love how Sister Dave is just so withering in her replies, " I trust you to do the right thing. " Like, if you say you don't have the fortitude, faith and commitment.... Meanwhile, I went back to the old thread just to scan the building of the pyramid again. At every stage they just look ...

Re: How did y'all come to Scambaiting?
I had always been interested in various types of scams. In early 2005 I decided to answer some scam emails as different Star Wars characters (thus my username) just to see how far I could take it and ended up having a three month long saga, which seemed like forever to me at the time, where my Anaki...

Excellent reminder. I have a character that I don't bait with much any more but whose hangouts is on one of my phones and I have lads from 2014 and 15 who still come back a few times a year, sometimes the same scammers, sometimes new scammers having taken over the lad's accounts. It would be interes...

Certainly something to brag about! "Trophies" may be entertaining, but receiving a lad's bank details and reporting it as fraud really hurts the lad - in their wallet! Congratulations.
