New to Scambaiting

Post by StuartMac51 » Sat Mar 27, 2021 4:09 pm

Hello

I have been inspired by the likes of [Removed monetised Youtube names - B8er] into start scam baiting as a hobby. But so far the only time i have managed to waste is my own. I have copied about 10 separate scam emails off various sites but not had any replays. I wanted to know what i am doing wrong? As ive just emailed them directly and not as a reply that they've sent. I have also had several problems trying to set up a virtual box as windows 10 seems to be a pig to load on it.

Regards
Stu Mac

This forum only deals with Advance Fee Fraud scams, so unless you are emailing them, we can't help you. If you are emailing Advance Fee Fraud scammers, then there is no need for a VM as you can just check the emails online and as long as you aren't clicking links or opening downloaded attachments you're at not risk.

Most AFF scammers will reply to anyone who responds to them, so unless you are being too over the top with your responses, you should get some replies - usually a simple "I'm interested, tell me more" is sufficient for an initial response.

Initially I just want to email scammers on Advanced fee scams. But eventually want to do refund and tech support ones hence me trying to set up a VM.
Ill just keep plugging away hopefully ill get a bite at some point.

p.s apologies about using Youtubers names I know its not there real names & would never post anyone's real name intentionally.

Hi StuartMac,

I applaud your energy! I'll chime in with B8er's response to encourage you toward advance fee fraud to start off, but I'm curious about where you're getting the emails? Some sites have been out there for a while, and it could be that the scammers have moved on and are no longer checking those mailboxes. I would recommend heading over to our sister site, Scamwarners.com, and looking for some fresh emails there. If they are more recent, you may have better luck with them.

Let us know if you have questions or need help along the way!

Thanks Kitty

I see these programmes like rip off Britain etc and hate the fact that a lot a these scum bag lads prey on the elderly and the vulnerable. So anything to delay them, make them angry or get under their skin I am all for it. I've now tried a few recent ones on this site and scammerwarners website which you mentioned so hopefully ill get a bite soon.
