Post by DerekTrotter1981 » Wed Jun 24, 2020 2:55 pm

David McKay actually got two responses; one was from the Melody identity, and the other was from the Derek identity. From my Derek email, I copied him with every other lad that I received (I had been keeping a list of every dipstick scammer that I had received since signing the muguguestbook) and just sent him a message saying something like: "Dipstick! Welcome to the list!"

Melody, on the other hand, was far more co-operative and she said:
I won the national lottery? How sweet! And he's waiting to pay the fee of $100? Better still!

Melody Crowe.
(This scammer actually had about three different email address; when he contacted me on the Derek account, he emailed me with this addresss: [email protected]. On the Melody account, he emailed me with this address: [email protected]. Whenever I replied to him, using either identity, the replies went to this address: [email protected])

A little info about the lad's multiple addresses:

Most of the time, a lad's initial format will have a From address and a Reply-to address. The from address is either a disposable account the lad expects to be closed by the provider after he spams his format, or it's stolen. If there's no reply-to address, then the format is usually something short that isn't likely to be dinged as spam, like "did you get my last email?"

Because he has spammed out that reply-to address, it is also pretty vulnerable to being reported (not by us) and shut down. That's often why they will move you over to yet another email address. This email isn't used to send spam or receive replies to it, so it is pretty safe from being reported by the general public. If you use filters or mailbox rules to sort your bait, you'll notice they bounce you around quite a bit, especially once you get to the fake bank sites and emails. Those do get regularly shut down.

Now Melody may have claimed to have won the lottery, but for some reason, the initial teaser email was the only thing that she got. Because my Derek email address got this message from someone who claims to be Barriester Morgan John: [email protected]. This is want he sent to my Derek email:
Thanks for the information which you have send to us please which Payment Mode:

1) Delivery of ATM Visa Card by courier : Yes/No
2) Bank to bank Transfer: Yes/No

Once again congratulation.
So I forwarded this to Melody and demanded an explanation from John about why she was said to have won the lottery, yet Morgan did not email her. Melody sent this email to Morgan:
Hi there!

Can you please explain to me why I've got this email in my mailbox? I mean, I thought I won the lottery and now you've gone off gallivanting off and emailing someone else!

Why is this? I hope you've got a good explanation.

Melody Crowe

You should obfuscate all the email addresses in your post. I just searched for your email address and it is the first hit on Mugu Guestbook with related searches pointing to Eater but it's to the old Forum. It wouldn't take some enterprising scammer very long to find the new forum.

I'm a concerned reader! Some of my favourite baits have been rumbled because baiters had inadvertently left info in that Google had indexed. It's only because of the baiters experience they were able to continue with the bait but it had to be moved to the Premium forum to be hidden from searches.
If you visit the old forum you could see how the experts write their baits and how they hide the email addressess etc. :)

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I don't blame you for being scared. Because really, sometimes it's good to be scared if it makes you careful.
It's only because of the baiters experience they were able to continue with the bait

To be completely on the safe side, you should also change the names of your characters to something similar but different. Just in case they get googled by the scammer.. ;)

Concerned as in worried, nothing to do with being scared.

Well, if you are found out, the bait ...I don't know, could be over? unless you can talk your way out of it and your excuses are believable to them. It's up to you how you would want to handle it for that particular bait.

^^ unfortunately, many baits have been "rumbled" by nosy lads addicted to Google. In general there is no need to reference email addresses when posting your baits on here. If you didn't obtain the lad's email address(es) at scamwarners.com then you can post the scam format and lad addresses over there to help warn potential victims. Plenty of baits were able to be salvaged after a lad found Eater but often requires the baiter to put in a lot of extra work and the lads usually end up being far more guarded going forward. Never work harder than the lad so be as generic as possible when posting so your pet idiot never manages to wander this way. There's also a decent chance that the "rumble" will happen right before you convinced a lad to do something epic like a safari or tattoo etc. Lads often take to Google to find out everything and anything they can about the people that are trying to get him to sit on a bus for several days. They get really nosy when all options have been exhausted except the one that requires them to get off their lazy ass. Now and again a lad will find their bait while on safari. On one hand that's awesome because you know that the ride home will be miserable and he knows full well that begging the baiter will get him nowhere so he'll need to sell his shoes or soul or whatever to get back home. On the other hand the bait might have been cut short prematurely and the lad will never experience the frustration of not knowing why his scam didn't work. Plus, lads need to be kept in the dark about Eater. Many of them are dumb as bricks but they are good at networking and gossip like spoiled school girls. There are baits on here where the lad told the baiter to be careful regarding exchanging personal info because the "Gomers are everywhere" even though the lad was never part of a Gomer related bait 8-) Gomer's nefarious reputation was being spread around the lad community via word of mouth. The fewer lads that know about Eater the better.

It kills me that a lad out there thinks it's plausible that the only thing standing between you and $12 billion dollars is a $100 Steam card. Gotta love winning a fake lottery that you never signed up for in the first place

I bet lads have their own network where they attempt to warn other lads of people like us; you know, they'll put on a post on some scam forum with a baiter's email address saying something like: "Don't try and write this email address unless you want time wasted"

Yes, there are scammers who warn each other. I've seen posts where scammers told each other not to send emails to addresses taken from MG (that guestbook), because it's a waste of time. The scammers are not fully aware that the people on there are baiters, but some scammers have figured out that people from the guestbook are always very eager to respond, but never ever send any money :D

The story of Melody Crowe winning a non-existent lottery continues!

About two hours ago, Melody received a very confusing email going on and on about arresting someone from someone claiming to be from the Royal Bank of Canada (the fake email address is [email protected]). This is what they sent her:
(RBC) Royal Bank Of Canada.
1122 International Blvd. Burlington,
Ontario L7L 6Z8 Canada.

Attention Beneficiary,

Hello dear customer I will like to inform you that we have settled all
the requested information that will help us get him arrested.
Presently we shall call the attention of the Economic and Financial
Crime Commission ( IMF ) to arrest Mr. Weiss Mohamad G of Indonesia .

Meanwhile you have been instructed by the Federal Ministry of RBC
Royal Bank Of Canada to try and made the payment of $100 for
Ownership Certificate of your fund to enable us proceed with the
transfer without any further delay and you have be given 12 hours. to
do so or their will cancel the transfer if their did not hear from you
within 12 hours, and it means that you are going to loose the
fund so I will advice you to try all your possible best and send the $100
for the Ownership Certificate before that 12 hours. And you are only
advice to purchase Steam Wallet Gift card of $100 send it and it will
be faster the attach
copy is my ID card and Driver Licence to proof you who I am.

Meanwhile we did not want any of our time to get wasted again by you
if you cannot pay this fee just get back to us immediately so that we
shall know that you are not the right owner of this fund and we will
look forward to the owner. waiting to hear from you with the picture
of the steam wallet gift card once you buy it

Yours Faithfully,

David I Mckay
The President and CEO.
Royal Bank Of Canada (RBC).
Head Office Location Address: 200 Bay Street,
Royal Bank Plaza
They also attached two pictures, claiming to be an ID card from the bank and a driving license (the driver's license is posted below). They're both shoddily designed and they have a severe lack of cropping. Lame.

Showing signs of frustration, Melody wrote to the Bank and she wrote:
You're going to...this gets worse, David! What are you talking about?

I hope this bank CEO is better with numbers than he is with basic grammar. This jackass supposedly runs a large bank but is squandering away all his leadership skills to focus on a $100 Steam card

I hate to say it but I think that the Board of Directors needs to hold an emergency meeting to take a vote of no confidence in this CEO and then appoint a temporary chief to steer the ship back on course. It would be kinda funny to run a scenario like that and tell the lad that he is relieved from his post. It's nothing personal but the Board's singular responsibility is to do right by the shareholders :P

There was a time when scammers would refer to Gmail users as "joksters". It does not happen anymore.

There's no reason to put on a tinfoil cap as scammers as a general rule display a pattern of self-centered, arrogant thinking and behavior, a lack of empathy and consideration for other people, and an excessive need for admiration. Baiters can use these traits to their advantage. Most scammers would never even consider an organization like Eater could be filled with individuals willing to spend time to help make the world a better place for others. Most scammers would never use one internet credit to let another scammer know that he is being baited. Its how they roll.
