Victim scammed

I saw this in the news today. I know it's not the type of scam (phone scam) we deal with here but the effects are the same to the victim. It's a good reminder of why we do what we do here.

They set up a gofundme for him, and I'm seeing he's raised back much more than what he lost due to the generosity of others. His video of thanks is so sweet - it looks like he's holding back tears. This one had a happier ending than most.

In the past week I have received threatening messages with arrest from our tax people and one calling from "the credit card company". It is easy to laugh it off of course, but there are those, like this man who was scared and vulnerable. One wonders how many people do not report these incidents.
