---Gary

The email had nothing attached to it.

Dear Gary Porter,

You are kidding because I cannot find any attach Slip as you stated in
your mail, please we are not here for joke, and if you fail to send

We shall cancel and confiscate your Payment.

Sorry, I forgot to attach the attachment. It's no big deal.

---Gary

This time I did attach a receipt, creating using the online MG receipt generator, with a Post-It note over the reference number saying "Is this what you wanted?"

Dr. Johnson wasn't very happy about it.

Dear Gary Porter,

I know you are fake, that is the reason you sent an invalid
transaction which the Slip was forge and perfected.

Well we will cancel your payment, while you go to moneyGram office and
collect your money rubbish.

Waiting for your urgent reply.

Dr Amos Johnson
Director Foreign Debt Payment Committee
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Hello Dr. Johnson,

What are you talking about? I haven't forged anything! I am genuinely insulted that you would think that. Now, just tell me what the problem seems to be so we can cease delays and get on with things.

---Gary

Dear Gary Porter,

The problem is that the transaction was invalid that means, there was
no money available,.

Well the only thing for you to receive your fund is to send the
clearance and handling charges fee of $850 by this week, so the ball
is in your Court, so go to the moneyGram office and make a correction
to the payment.

Waiting for your urgent reply.

Dr Amos Johnson
Director Foreign Debt Payment Committee
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Hello Dr. Johnson,

I went back to my local MoneyGram to see what was going on, and the person working there looked up my transfer and he confirmed what you said that it did not appear as an existent transfer in the MoneyGram system. This confused me. Then, another employee came out of the back and she was the one who had done the transfer, so she recognized me, and confirmed that I had made a transfer and wasn't going crazy.

There wasn't much they could do because it was Friday evening, but she promised she would be there first thing Tuesday morning so we could figure out what is going on.

I'm sorry I don't have better news. I will email you again when I find out more. In the meantime, don't worry that the problems are because of you. You haven't made any mistakes.

---Gary

Besides the mistake of becoming a criminal, no, he hasn't made any mistakes.

Dear Gary Porter,

I have received your mail as I resumed back to my Office after the
weekend break for my official duty of the day.

Well it may interest you to know that I have informed the Presidency
of the contents of your mail and He categorically said that if you
fail to claim your fund within three (3) working days, that I should
cancel and confiscate the fund.

So I put it to you to comply within this stipulated time or risk of
losing your Fund.

Waiting for your urgent reply.

Dr Amos Johnson
Director Foreign Debt Payment Committee
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Funny that this bait would continue a lot longer than three working days.

Hello Dr. Johnson,

A lot has happened since you last heard from me. I went back to the MoneyGram where I made the payment to see what has been going on, and, well, it turns out I gave them the form, but those idiotic sons-of-bitches forgot to send the payment through? Can you believe that? Well, I was so furious that their incompetency had been causing delays, and, well, let's just say I made that very clear to them. I told them they were sons of bitches, and they told me I was an entitled lunatic, and things didn't get better from there.

Long story short, I'm banned from my local MoneyGram, and there isn't another one near me. Is there another way we could make the transfer? Perhaps through PayPal? Or I could just send you a check through a courier service. I don't think there aren't any Western Unions near me, which is unfortunate.

Sorry about all this,
Gary

Dear Gary Porter,

The President has already instructed that I should cancel and
confiscate your fund, so I have been pleading on your behalf since
yesterday which He finally accepted today to give you this week to
finalise with your Payment.

money to the Bank account OK.

Waiting for your urgent reply.

Dr Amos Johnson
Director Foreign Debt Payment Committee
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Hello Dr. Johnson,

I don't think they gave me a transfer slip. What would it be needed for?

---Gary

Dear Gary Porter,

It is obvious that you are such a cheap lier, how can you transfer
money and the Bank fails to issue you the Customer Transfer Slip copy
to prove that the Transfer was done and successful.

So since you are here to play games, we shall cancel your Fund by tomorrow.

Waiting for your urgent reply.

Dr Amos Johnson
Director Foreign Debt Payment Committee
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Hello Dr. Johnson,

I am insulted that you would call be a lier. I have not lied. You just misunderstood me. I meant it would not be needed because these days they do everything electronically, no paper slips involved. I might be able to find some proof of payment on my banking app if that is what you need.

Sincerely,
Gary

Dear Gary Porter,

If you are not a lier how come the money you sent have not reflect
into the account until now, well I know you are just kidding OK.

So let forget this drama since the Federal Government has threaten to
cancel and confiscate your fund.

Waiting for your urgent reply.

Dr Amos Johnson
Director Foreign Debt Payment Committee
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Good evening Dr. Johnson,

I promise you, I am not a lier. I have attached the copy of the transfer receipt straight from my banking app! Let me know if it does everything you need it to.

---Gary

The "receipt" was a pdf file I had corrupted.

Dear Gary Porter,

You know what you are saying is NOT truth, because how can you
transfer money for almost 2 weeks now, the money has not be credited
in the Bank account until now, so stop deceiving yourself, you sent
nothing.

As a matter of fact, your fund has been cancel because of your
inability to complete the payment obligation.

Waiting for your urgent reply.

Dr Amos Johnson
Director Foreign Debt Payment Committee
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Funny that we still had more than a month to spend talking about a cancelled fund.

NO! Do not cancel my fund. I want my fund. Don't cancel my fund! Didn't you see the transfer receipt I attached?

I am not a lier.

---Gary

And when that didn't get a response, I sent another email.

Hello Dr. Johnson,

What is going on? Can I have my fund? I'm not a lier so can I have my fund?

---Gary

Dear Gary Porter,

If truly you are NOT a lier, why have you fail to send the $850 for
the logistic and release of your Fund.

Have you receive the $850 back from the Bank which you claimed you
sent? well the truth of the matter if that you are not ready and
serious to receive your fund, then do send the fee when it is receive,
I can go to the Presidency to plead on your behalf and I promised you
must receive the Fund.

Waiting for your urgent reply.

Dr Amos Johnson
Director Foreign Debt Payment Committee
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Hello Dr. Johnson,

Don't you trust me? I'm not a lier, so don't cancel my fund. I will go to my bank on Tuesday and try to figure out what is going on. I'm just getting frustrated with all of these delays. First MoneyGram didn't work, now the bank is making a problem. Be rest assured I will figure out a way to get you your money. Are you guys based out of Lagos?

---Gary

is not for me, rather to the Federal Government OK.

Hello Dr. Johnson,

I went to the bank and they said they could try to resend the transfer, but they said the problem would be more likely with the account than with the transfer, especially in Nigeria. Does your government have another account I could try sending it to?

Hello Dr. Johnson,

Perhaps you didn't understand me. My bank said it would be best to try another bank account that is not the one we already tried. They said problems usually occur with accounts not with transfers. Is there another bank account I could try? Surely the government of Nigeria would have more than one?

Dr Amos Johnson

Hello Dr. Johnson,

First you say "do not contact me again," then you say "waiting for your urgent reply." You realize those instructions are contradictory, right? What do you want me to do?

---Gary

But even when I tried a month later, Dr. Johnson wasn't responding.

Hello Dr. Johnson,

I'm still waiting for your answer. Did you want me to contact you again, or no?

---Gary

Still, all around that wasn't a bad journey. I enjoyed it. I'm not sure if I could say the same about Dr. Johnson.

Sorry, at least one of those is because I didn't realize what putting brackets around "CODE" would do.
