Howdy!
New caller, longtime listener here. I think this is the right place to post. I am a DJ and I recently received this message below in the mailbox at my station. It sounded a tad suspicious, but who knows. I texted the dude.
Hello,
I will like to book you for my daughters sweet sixteen i will like to know your availability, text me for faster communication on [REDACTED]. I am an hearing impaired person, i will appreciate your understanding.
Stay Safe
He wrote back with more details about this party, asked my rates, etc., and in the third or fourth note he said he needed to pay by “electronic check,” which he assured me was very easy and convenient.
That’s when I figured he had to be a scammer. Has anyone heard of this type before, where a scammer tries to obtain services? What would his endgame be? To get my bank account info?
Thank you,
Becky
