I doubt it will be long until scammers try to exploit it.

Would not surprise me either.

Alternatively, we can use this to our advantage to. Can be used as an excuse to delay things, when used creatively.

UK notes show the monarch's head. I can imagine scammers taking "obsolete" notes off victims for replacement. As you say, this could be a payment delaying modality.

I've used it to delay payment with one of my lads. But I have to give credit to Sparky905 and KLG for the idea, otherwise I would have never thought of it. It looks like it works pretty well so far.

Sick scammers pretend to be the Queen in most unconvincing con you’ve ever see.
The message claims the Queen isn’t really dead, but has been sent to a deserted island by Charles so he could claim the throne.
Apparently, ‘the Queen’ can’t get hold of her ‘royal money’ so needs the recipient of the message to cashapp (a mobile payment service) her $300 so she can get back.

Andrew Bailey is the current Governor of the Bank of England. No idea about the scammer's typos.

I got an inheritance scam format which references the death of the queen and awkwardly tries to use it as the reason for the scam.
Although the actual scam is just about some other guy who died.
Dear friend,
Due to the disheartening loss of the Queen Elizabeth the 11, Your
Urgent attention is really needed. Sorry for disturbing you at this
moment. My name is Mrs. Doris Muller. The chief financial auditor of
Lloyds bank London branch in England. One of our customers from your
Country Japan Mr. kanamaru Masa has fixed deposit with my bank valued
at GBP £850.000. He was not married and did not mention any relation
or next of kin on the particular day the account was opened.

Unfortunately, He died of Covid in 2020. I knew about his death
because he was my friend and I’m his account officer.
Last week the General Bank of England instructed all the banks in the
UK to transfer out all the Inheritance fund in their banks. Because
the Queen Elizabeth 11 is dead already and the Ministry of finance and
the IMF are working on changing the Queen Elizabeth face from the
Grate Britain Pounds note.

I've had someone use the queen as his reason for contacting me:
My name is Greg Hands, Treasurer of the Household and a member of the privy council of the late Queen Elizabeth II

This is to inform you that Queen Elizabeth II has made a Secret Deposit of 100,000.000.00 GBP in my name with KEB Hana Bank the year 2014 in the United Kingdom to be shared among 15 lucky people after her departure from this earth and you are expected to use this amount to support the less privileged, Charity Homes and people in need in your community or city.
Nah. I'll just spend it on booze and hookers.
