I love winding up scammers and keeping them on the phone! My favourite was keeping 'Charles' from Windows on the phone for over 1 1/2 hours because my computer had sent lots of errors to Microsoft. I pretended to be an elderly woman with a computer upstairs which I had to access via a stairlift, of course my phone was not cordless! Of course I kept forgetting things and getting things wrong sooooooo up and down the stairs I went - or so he thought. I eventually got bored and hung up - he then left the most vile abusive message on my answer machine but at least he wasn't scamming more vulnerable people whilst he was talking to me

One downside of engaging with phone scammers is they have your phone number, and can leave messages like that one did, or even worse they can give your number out to some shady characters. I also registered an account here with one of my primary email accounts, is that safe? Thanks.

EDIT: Also, may I ask about the reasoning behind your no-monetized-youtuber rules? Is it a morally or practically-minded restriction? They are what introduced me to the concept of scambaiting.

Hi all. I got a message on social media from someone that was posing as someone I went to high school with. It was very obvious that it was a scam, so I decided to have some fun. See “Jaybird Needs a Puppy” in the forum.

I haven’t baited anyone before but I’ve been a passive reaser and fan of this forum for a while. I figured I’d have some fun and I’m here for the mentoring I hope.

Hello all.

Been following a lot of scam baiters online for a while. finally got the guts to start something of my own.

Although, I seem to be having an issue with the scam Warner website.
I have apparently been denied access and face the error code 1080.
Is this common? is there some registration procedure?

If someone could help with that it would be awesome.
I'm trying to get some emails to reply to so I can get started.

Welcome to Eater! Scamwarners.com appears to be working fine for me (although I am not trying to register). Have you tried contacting anyone on that site? They will probably want to know the name and email address you are using there.
