Kitty is right that a phone is not needed. A practical way to start with email only: create a dedicated webmail account with an invented name and nothing linked to your real life, and never reuse a password or photo from your personal accounts. Before writing to anyone, read a few completed baits in the publish section to see how characters are built and how members keep a lad busy without giving away anything real. A simple notes file per lad, with names, dates and every story detail, keeps the character consistent when the conversation runs for weeks.

My main baiting character is that of an elderly gentleman. He lost his hearing in the war so he has no use for a phone! So there are ways around the phone calls.
